D-Mac = Best Eagles QB Ever

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! It is finally here and there may not be anyone else more excited for the game than me.  Okay, maybe that is a little over the top but you are catching my drift, right?  Now I know that many Eagles fans were not happy with Donovan McNabb and were thrilled when he was traded and they are certainly are entitled to their opinions.  I’m just not so sure they know why they hated him.  Think about.  When I listen to sports radio, most people that call in say that McNabb was annoying and too controversial.  Well does not being cool make him a bad quarterback? Nope.  Should we blame Donovan for the comments Rush Limbaugh made?   Of course not.  But we always blame McNabb for everything that goes wrong and never give him credit when credit is due.  And when you think about it, we never even gave him a chance.
The “Dirty 30”, who in my opinion are a bunch of overweight, misinformed idiots,  went up to New York City and booed Donovan McNabb which started this unneeded hatred for a stellar quarterback.  We literally booed a guy who was a PHILADELPHIA EAGLE for no more than 3 seconds because we didn’t draft Ricky Williams.  Hey Dirty 30, how’d Ricky “I get high” Williams work out for Mike Ditka and the Saints?  DMAC then takes us to 5 NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl and we are happy he is gone?  How ridiculous is that?  But because he was too corporate for this blue collar town we never accepted him as our own which is unfair to Donovan on so many levels.
I got some bad news for you McNabb haters.  He is a 6 time pro bowl quarterback with over 30,000 yards passing.   Another 1,500 yards and he’ll pass Hall of Famer Jim Kelly on the All-Time passing yards list. Did I mention he was in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?  But how many Super Bowls did Jim Kelly lose? 4. Is he hated in Buffalo?   Absolutely not.  Why?  Because he gave that city the best decade of football that city has ever had.  Think that city would do anything to go back to those years when the lost the Super Bowl? You bet they would because even though they lost each year at the end, Jim Kelly gave them an exciting 4 months of football each year.  Now what do they have? A horrible quarterback and a horrible team.
Face it, we never gave McNabb a fair shot and we ran the best quarterback we ever had out of this town because he never won it.  Imagine what would have happened to Denver if they never gave John Elway a 14th and 15th season.  He never would have won it for Denver.  Maybe they would be classified as fools like Philadelphia fans are.  Instead, they believed in him and he finished with 2 Super Bowls. Now, I’m not saying McNabb would have won it for the Eagles, but I’m saying we’ll never know. Now one thing I will tell you, is if you boo this guy today when the Eagles play the Redskins you better not be standing next to me in Canton when I am cheering for him.  If you boo today when they announce his name, be prepared to boo forever, because I will remember who boo’s and cheer’s and I will call you out on it when 15 years from now you claim that you supported McNabb.
I’m going to call it right now.  McNabb is captain for the Redskins and Andy Reid sends out all the players to have ever been McNabb’s teammate and they all shake his hand and wish him luck as all of us should.  But after that coin flip, Donovan becomes a Washington Redskin.  That means I send the dogs after him and win this game not in spite of McNabb, but because we are simply a better team.
